Leo Season 2025 pt.1: Deep Heart Calling

Leo season is here, with its passionate fire that seeks expression, authenticity and validation.

What is Leo?
Leo is the 2nd fire sign of the zodiac: a fire that is steady, consistent, and at times scorching, just like the Sun. No other sign in the zodiac has the Sun as their ruler. The Sun is not only our solar system’s gravitational center, but also our only source of light and warmth which allows for the existence of life on Earth. Yes, Leo is huge.
The powerful light of the Sun is akin to the ever-burning fire of the heart. Leo is associated with the heart: physically, emotionally and energetically. Our heartbeat is what keeps us living literally and metaphorically, just like the Sun keeps the entire planet alive and all of life constantly looking forward to summertime.
The heart beats with consistency: pulse after pulse, a rhythm flows that maintains our entire body oxygenated, nourished, connected, cohesively alive. This rhythm can be seen in the cycle of the seasons: Leo season is the peak of summertime, a moment when we are reminded to enjoy the fullness of life with all its richness.
The Sun is so strong during this time of year that we experience heat waves that are too much to handle. In the same way, Leo can be too much heat to handle. There are a number of ways that the scorching Leo energy can show up, and in all cases it has to do with a part of the Leo person that has yet to heal.
The most obvious one is blindness. The Sun can be blinding, and in astrology, the Sun represents the essential self and the development of an identity around that essence. Leo can sometimes find itself being blind to other’s sunshines, by being so focused on its own. The origin of the hyper self focus is a fear of not being received, being too much, too little, while deeply craving being seen and recognized.
The Leo blindness can lead to being boastful, arrogant and even aggressive. This side only shows up if Leo is hurting internally and is too proud/insecure/afraid to show the true emotions behind the flames.
Leo in its pure heart expression means being so excited about life that the desire to share this brimming joy is enormous, like the summer filled to the brim with fresh fruits, late sunsets and joyful beaches.
That Leo type can barely contain its generosity and love. The heart is powerful, so immensely so that a heart that is aligned and connected is capable of moving masses and creating ripples beyond its own life. This is the true Leo power.
Leo cannot force attaining this powerful effect over the collective from an insecure/unhealed identity.
The true power of Leo stems from a heart that loves itself first. A heart that beats steady, directly and purely from love of life. When love exists within, for self and everything we are, then the Leo energy is unstoppable.
When a heart-centered Leo is out in the world, they generously uplift others. They are the best cheerleaders, fun and playful as children, expressive like only they can be, loud like lions and lionesses, moving, motivating and inspiring the world around them. This is why Leo is associated with leaders and royalty.
When a wounded Leo is out in the world, their hunger for love and approval is so big that it can take them to great lengths in order to attain a substitute for love, aka attention. But the attention is never enough because nothing call fill the void of not seeing and loving themselves. In the worse cases this can lead to hoarding power and control through tyrannical means.
Leo people can go through a variety of emotions when it comes to attention. They might be hungry for it, but also be afraid of it. They may seek the center stage, only to withdraw in embarrassment later. They can crave being seen, while building the coolest and most stylish walls around their true feelings.
You have a heart, there is no doubting that. Leo is the heart, so even if you have no planets in Leo, there is a part of your life where your heart lives, and that area is the astrological house where you have Leo in your natal chart.

New Moon in Leo 2025
The New Moon in Leo is exact on July 24th at 1:11pm MT.
This New Moon is planting a very powerful seed in the area of your life that is represented by Leo (check table above).
The summer of 2025 is painting a picture for us that will develop further in the next few years. We are seeing the trailer of the movie right now, having a taste of the beginning of the next phase of our lives.
Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are all initiating their cycles of several years (3, 8, 14 and 21 years respectively). The New Moon in Leo in 2025 plants a seed that is tightly connected to all of them.
Pluto faces the New Moon in Leo 2025
This is probably the most important aspect of this New Moon. Pluto has been in Aquarius for only a couple years (out of 21) and we can already see very clearly the theme of technological advances that blow our brains away with the changes that AI is generating in various fields and ways. We also can see clearly - and sadly - that the power and the money of the world is primarily concentrated in tech giants. I wrote a blog post about Pluto in Aquarius and you can read it here.
The human heart, represented by Leo, is being faced with a potent, scary and inescapable truth that is calling our creativity up to the challenge.
While technology takes over and slowly (or quickly) rebuilds the markets, the industries, and society at large, each and every single heart that beats is being called to step up. I think a lot of us feel it, and this cannot be emphasized enough: the future is literally in our hands and hearts.
Pluto is the face of fear. It is our collective nightmare, and we are seeing it play out in real life. We are collectively scared of our own technology. I don’t think we had experienced something like this before. We knew our privacy was being breached, but we kept on going, seeing not too much harm in a bit of "targeted marketing". But at this point, we are talking about AI powered military weapons and surveillance, in a time when the war machine is tearing our hearts apart.
Aquarius is objective, it will not necessarily label any tool as morally good or bad. And I get that, we are seeing the power of a whole new level of machine that escapes the understanding of most, because it is capable of making decisions on its own. But where will this go? It literally depends on us.

The fear, the disappointment, the disgust, the overwhelm, the sadness. Emotion sets you in motion.
I posted a few stories the other day on Instagram. I felt compelled to talk about the fact that humanity is now in such a crisis that we need to stop hiding our truth.
I know many are using AI as a way to speed up their work. I want you to know that I write these blog posts and every single newsletter and every single caption, letter by letter. Writing is a channel for my voice, it is a channel for my heart. I am not giving that away. I am not interested. I need you to read/hear my actual voice because it is directly connected to my heart. Every word I speak and write, is charged with my intention. My intention is to help activate you to live your authenticity with full force. I can't AI that!
As a Leo rising, and a Manifestor (in Human Design), I know that my heart-centered voice is my superpower. And the only way I can use my voice is speaking for myself.
I believe in the power that lives in connecting to you from my heart. So I will pour my heart in my writing, my speaking and my music. And I hope this encourages you to do it too, however it looks like for you to express your truth.
Uranus, Saturn and Neptune in the New Moon in Leo 2025
There is a whole dynamic going on between Pluto, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus… and the New Moon in Leo. They are all connected, in ways that can really feel like a wake up call.
This New Moon is like a heart activation, a calling that plants a seed of possibility for a creative, authentic, and heart centered future.
This new moon falls in a window of time (summer 2025) where the future is showing its initial peekaboo.
Our mind, understanding, concepts, message, story, voice and connections have started a process of being shaken by Uranus (all the way until 2033). In addition to that, Mercury is retrograde in Leo.
This means whatever is being reframed in your mind, rearranged in your chess board, or looked at from a different pov is MEANINGFUL. Allow the Mercury retrograde (until Aug 11th) to simmer your thoughts. The New Moon in Leo's energy invites you to think outside the box tapping deeper into your truest part. How exciting is that?
Chiron in the New Moon in Leo 2025
While every planet is starting a new chapter, there is one guy still waiting to wrap up its important mission of healing. I am referring to Chiron, a very relevant asteroid/comet that speaks to our fears and insecurities. Chiron has been in Aries since 2018 and will exit Aries between 2026-27.
During this New Moon in Leo, Chiron is challenging us to embody the healing that has taken place in these 7 years. To realize that now is the moment to bring that healing process out of hiding and allow others to witness you.
The Leo New Moon says loudly and powerfully: your imperfection is perfect. Your wounds are real and raw. Others can connect to you because of them. They can feel seen and understood. If you are afraid of not being healed enough, of not being ready, of what will happen if you are vulnerable… know that this is exactly the power that you have to heal others. And that in that service, you heal too.
Journaling prompts for the New Moon in Leo 2025
New Moons will new moon no matter what you do. The Universe doesn’t really care about our rituals. Nature will always continue to unfold cyclically even if we all disappear. There is nothing really important about making a new moon ritual, and I have never believed that it makes any difference. I enjoy the fact that it creates an instance to gather in circle, share our feels and connect intentionally. But still, new moons will new moon regardless.
What is cool though is to be aware. That is what makes a difference.
Reading this already makes you aware of that a new beginning is unfolding this week, a seed is being planted in your heart, and it is a seed full of powerful potential that will depend on your own awareness of the contents of your heart.
The heart holds the secrets to your greatest fulfillment and joy in life. This is the energy center where we feel love. That which we love is important to us, isn’t it? It keeps us alive, with purpose, and clarity of direction. It is kind of a big deal!
My 2 cents: pay attention. Observe your feelings and thoughts during the new moon on Thursday July 24th. Use these questions as your prompt to journal, and let yourself write without filter or limitation:
What is coming up for you?
Do you feel connected to your heart?
Do you feel like you are disconnected from your heart? If so, why is that?
What makes you excited right now?
Is something weighing on your heart?
Is there a calling, or a waking up happening?
Venus in Cancer - Leo season 2025
Venus, our Goddess of beauty, love and harmony is jumping out of chatty, social and adhd Gemini to dive into the emotional and nourishing waters of Cancer on July 30th. She is staying until August 25th when she will step into Leo (more Leo down the road!).
While I write these words, Venus is in Gemini, in a tricky position. She is halfway between eclipse points (squaring the Nodes), and simultaneously squaring Mars. This signals a need to seek love, fairness and balance more intentionally than usual.
As Venus enters Cancer, she is initially met with a sort of reality check, heaviness, or some kind of responsibility. The weight can be tough to pinpoint with the influence of Neptune. Venus might also invite a softening or easing of Saturnian structure or confuse our aims.
Once Venus enters Cancer on the 30th, a deeper dimension unfolds for the planet of beauty, fairness, self worth, love and relationships. We may notice a softening and a search for emotional connection in our relationships, or within ourselves. Venus in Cancer values cultivating emotional safety.
The softer part of Venus in Cancer will take a bit to really make an appearance. And even then, it may feel as if there are other things calling our attention simultaneously. Either way, we will have a Venus/Jupiter conjunction around mid August so I highly recommend watching the sky before sunrise. Maybe the blessings of Venus and Jupiter will be hidden in the little things.
Once Mars enters Libra on August 6th, we might notice a collective "decrease of testosterone". Not only will Mars be in a sign where decisions are really hard to make (Libra does not like to choose), but also Mars will be opposing Saturn and Neptune.
Making moves might feel really heavy and motivation might be low. If you are sensing disorientation, know that this makes sense. There are a few more challenges ahead, I'll make sure to keep you posted on them.
